The Xiaomi 17 series has already exceeded 1 million unit sales in China. To address the demands, the company is planning to start offering a 1TB variant for the lineup’s standard variant.
The new series recently made a mark in the Chinese market. According to the company, within the first two minutes of hitting the shelves, the series immediately broke a record. The Pro Max model also quickly became out of stock due to high demand.
Now, two days after its launch, Xiaomi shared that the lineup accumulated more than a million unit sales. The Pro Max model is said to be responsible for half of the sales. Offline sales of the models are also revealed to be twice to three times the volume of the lineup’s online sales.
Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing recently addressed fans’ concerns about the lack of a 1TB variant for the standard Xiaomi 17 model. According to the official, the earlier generation’s 1TB sales were low, leading to the company’s decision not to offer it in this year’s vanilla model. However, after criticism from fans, the executive confirmed that the company is now working on the 1TB variant for the base variant. According to him, it will start selling on October 5. The production of the entire series is also now said to be increased to keep up with the demand.
