A new leak specifies the possible launch timeline of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra.
The Xiaomi 17 series arrived in China recently. While the lineup already has impressive models like the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max, which both have secondary displays, Xiaomi is still expected to introduce an additional Ultra model.
According to earlier reports, the phone would arrive in the last quarter of the year. Now, a tipster from China claims that the model now has a tentative December launch timeframe.
The tip also mentions several details of the handheld, including its UWB support, 6800mAh battery, upgraded flash, and Leica logo.
According to earlier reports, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will feature a quad camera system, including a 50MP main camera (probably the 1″ OmniVision OV50X), a 50MP JN5 ultrawide, a 50MP JN5 telephoto, and a 200MP HPE periscope telephoto. In front, the phone will be armed with an upgraded 50MP OV50M (vs. Xiaomi 15 Ultra’s 32MP selfie camera) lens. In China, the phone is also said to support direct communication through Tiantong-1 and Beidou satellites. Other details expected from the phone include its Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
While the model is expected to make a global debut alongside the vanilla Xiaomi 17 model, both Pro models could remain exclusive to China. As noted in the past, there are no dedicated global variants of the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max listed on certification platforms.
