The Poco F8 series is rumored to be a rebadged version of the Redmi K90 lineup. However, like in the past, the global variants of the phone are getting some downgrades.
The Redmi K90 series is now in China, and it is expected to be launched globally under Poco F8 branding. According to earlier reports, both models will also feature the Bose audio system, but there will be some changes as well.
This starts with the batteries of the phones, which will be smaller compared to those of their Chinese counterparts. The Poco F8 Pro is allegedly not getting the same 7100mAh battery as the Redmi K90, while the Poco F8 Ultra is getting a smaller 6500mAh cell (vs. the Redmi K90 Pro Max’s 7560mAh battery).
The colors and configuration options for the Poco phones are also fewer in comparison to their Redmi counterparts. The F8 Pro is available in Black, Blue, and Titanium Silver options, with configurations including 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB. The Ultra model, meanwhile, is available in Black and Denim Blue colors, and comes in 12GB/256GB and 16GB/512GB configurations. The camera department of the Ultra model is also reportedly receiving a minor change in its periscope telephoto unit, which will feature a 3.5× optical zoom, down from the 5× optical zoom in the Chinese variant. As for other sections, such as the display, IP ratings, chips, and more, the Poco F8 Pro and Poco F8 Ultra are expected to adopt the same details as their Chinese siblings.
