Instead of the earlier-rumored Snapdragon 7 SoC, a new tip says the Honor X80 will actually use an older series chip.
Honor is expected to update the Honor X70 soon, and earlier reports said its successor will feature a larger battery. The device is also said to arrive with a new chip, with tipster Digital Chat Station suggesting it would be a Snapdragon 7-series chip. However, the same leaker changed his earlier statement, saying that the device is now set to get the next generation of the Snapdragon 6 series. To recall, the X70 has a Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, so the processor could be called Snapdragon 6 Gen 5.
DCS also echoed his earlier statement that the battery will be upgraded to 10,000mAh. According to earlier reports, the Honor X80 could also feature a 6.81″ flat 1.5K LTPS display and arrive with a lower price tag.
