This is what Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition will be called globally

A certification listing of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition has revealed that it will be called differently in the global market.

The special edition Ultra model is already available in China, and the brand is now preparing for its international debut. According to earlier reports, the phone could be announced outside China on February 28.

Interestingly, instead of being called the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, the phone’s Thailand NBTC listing shows that it will be called “Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi.”

Despite the different naming, the phone is expected to feature the same specifications as its Chinese counterpart (except for a smaller battery). Sadly, there’s also a chance the price will be higher than the version in China.

To recall, the phone is based on the standard Xiaomi 17 Ultra but offers more camera-centric features, such as 3:2 Leica Moment modes, a mechanical zoom ring, a retro design, a magnetic case, a lens cover, and more. The said phone offers the following:

  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
  • LPDDR5X RAM
  • UFS 4.1 storage
