After years, Huawei will finally get rid of the side-mounted fingerprint scanners on its numbered Mate series.
The Mate flagship line is an impressive series, but its authentication system underwhelms. Well, a new tip says it is about to change in the Huawei Mate 90 lineup, which will soon get ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensors. This should lead to faster authentication and could also mean the brand will improve the lineup’s display. Currently, all models in the Mate 80 series feature FHD+ OLED screens with a 1-120Hz refresh rate.
According to reports, other areas of the phones are also expected to receive upgrades. For instance, the Mate 90 Pro Max will feature two telephoto cameras, with one capable of 10x optical zoom.
