Xiaomi promises 5-year battery replacement for Redmi Note 17 Pro

Xiaomi is offering a very attractive offer for fans eyeing the upcoming Redmi Note 17 Pro.

The Redmi series is set to debut in China on July 14. As the date approaches, the brand has started teasing fans with details about the phones.

Earlier this week, we heard that the Pro model will feature an extra-large 9000mAh battery with 67W wired charging and 22.5W wired reverse charging.

In addition to its size, the battery’s main highlight is its durability and longevity. In line with this, the brand made a bold promise to replace the battery for free if its capacity drops below 80% within the first four years of the phone’s purchase. If this happens in the fifth year, the company says it will “upgrade” to a better cell, suggesting you can get a 10,000mAh battery for free.

This is a daring move from the brand, which puts its whole trust in the quality of its devices. Even more, it means Xiaomi already has the tech to include a bigger battery in the body of a phone the size of the Redmi Note 17 Pro.

According to reports, the huge cell will keep the lights on for its 1.5K display, which reaches 3500 nits of peak brightness. This will be much brighter than the 6.83″ 2772x1280px (1.5K) 120Hz AMOLED with 3200nits peak brightness of its predecessor. The phone is also expected to have IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings. In a recent clip, the brand tested the durability and water-pressure resistance of its display.
