Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing believes that the increase in memory prices may slow in the second half of the year.
Several brands have been steadily raising prices on their latest and past releases due to the ongoing memory crisis in the industry. One includes Xiaomi, which previously tried to shoulder the rising cost of memory. However, as noted previously, adjusting device prices is inevitable.
Now, Xiaomi’s Lu Weibing has hinted that increases in memory prices may slacken in the second half of the year.
However, while this should be good news, the executive noted that the upward trend will continue and that storage costs will remain high.
To recall, Xiaomi has recently raised the prices of its devices, including those under its sub-brands such as Redmi and Poco. For instance, just days ago, the Redmi Turbo 5 saw a price increase of up to ₹6,000 ($63) in India, while the Poco X8 Pro and Poco X8 Pro Max received their third price increase.
