iQOO 16 confirmed coming with 2K 165Hz display

iQOO has announced that the iQOO 16 will be the first brand to offer a display with 2K resolution and 165Hz refresh rate.

The device’s display is equipped with 2K LEAD 2.0 technology, a product of iQOO and Samsung’s collaboration. It also boasts the high-refresh-rate Samsung M16 luminescent material.

According to the brand, it also boasts the iQOO Q-flex control technology, which “significantly reduces” latency between the user’s touch and the screen response. It is said to offer up to 5000Hz of instantaneous touch sampling rate. It also promises 100% first-frame brightness ratio and “minimal” ghosting.

Other noteworthy details of the display include 1.24× P3 gamut coverage, PWM dimming up to 3300Hz, 10,000-nit local peak brightness, and 39.6% better color uniformity and 22.3% better brightness uniformity than the previous generation.

Despite its powerful features, the new display is said to have reduced power consumption by 30%.

According to earlier reports, the iQOO 16 will also arrive with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6, a dedicated chip, a 50MP main camera, a periscope telephoto unit, a 6.85″ display with an ultrasonic scanner, an 8500mAh battery, 100W wired charging, wireless charging, and IP68/IP69 ratings.

The iQOO 16 will be offered in Track, Legend, and Light Chaser colorways. It is also expected to arrive in 12GB/256GB, 12GB/512GB, 16GB/512GB, and 16GB/1TB configurations. In China, the phone is now available for pre-orders.
