If you are seeing some apps you don’t remember installing yourself on your Realme device, you are not alone. Recently, it seems the brand has pushed an OTA update to the GT Neo3, Neo 3T, and Narzo 30 models, leading to unwanted bloatware in the systems of the said models.
The news was pointed out by leaker account @Cartidise on X, saying that even the flagship series of Realme is now receiving junk apps and gambling ads. Specifically, the tipster underscored that there are three devices affected by the move: the GT Neo3, Neo 3T, and Narzo 30 models.
One particular app the account shared is named APP Picks. According to the image shared by the tipster, the OTA has caused the said models to also advertise a handful of gambling apps. We already reached out to Realme for the comment, but the company remains mum about the matter.
The move, nonetheless, is not surprising, as the same issue is also widespread on the OnePlus platform. To recall, the OnePlus Open is infested with lots of unnecessary preinstalled apps. Recently, the brand also drew flak after pushing pre-load apps to its devices. However, the company said that it was just an “error” and had already “rectified” it. Interestingly, despite the assurances, evidence of the company’s plan to push more bloatware items to its devices was spotted in the OnePlus 12 OxygenOS 14.0.0.610 firmware.
