This budget Honor smartphone has the trendy rear display feature

Honor wants to offer you another way to access a rear-display-capable device at an affordable price point. Here’s the Honor X5d s 4G.

Thanks to the Xiaomi 17 Pro series (and now the Xiaomi 18 Pro), the trend toward secondary displays on non-foldables was revived. Several brands jumped on the bandwagon by offering detachable magnetic displays in their models, while Honor took it further by introducing them in its affordable models.

After the Honor Play 20A 4G, the brand is back to give the market another budget model with a rear screen. The Honor X5d s 4G looks identical to the said Play device, but it now has an upgraded display with a punch-hole selfie cutout instead of the old waterdrop notch.

The secondary display sits inside the rectangular camera island next to the two camera lens cutouts. The screen can show different information, including time, music, and messages. It can also work as a viewfinder when using the rear camera system for selfies.

As a budget model, nonetheless, it is still pretty basic in most parts. It is armed with Unisoc T610, paired with 4GB of RAM. It houses a large 6000mAh battery with 15W charging support, keeping the power on for its 6.78” 720*1576px 90Hz LCD. In front, it has a 5MP selfie unit, while its back houses a decent 50MP main camera.

The phone’s price remains unknown, but it is part of the brand’s budget series in South Africa.
