Nothing co-founder Akis Evangelidis has denied claims that the company is leaving over a dozen markets.
This week, a report claimed that the London-based company would leave the Middle East, Japan, parts of Europe, and more. The company also reportedly axed some of its employees: 40% of its global workforce and 50% and 30-40% of its R&D departments in China and London, respectively.
Upon hearing about the report, Evangelidis refuted the claim that the company had departed from various markets. According to him, the brand is actually “reorganizing.”
While he did not deny that some of Nothing’s workers were let go, he somehow dismissed the suggestions that the company’s recent smartphones had poor sales performance. According to him, the Phone (4b) sold 29,537 units within its first day.
