Leaker: First batch of phones with SD 8 Elite 2, Dimensity 9500 to arrive in late Sept/early Nov

A reputable leaker expressed confidence in claiming that the first batch of phones with the next flagship chips will arrive in September or October.

The smartphone industry’s spotlight is currently owned by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite and MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chips. Nonetheless, the two are expected to be replaced soon by Qualcomm’s and MediaTek’s next flagship SoCs: the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and Dimensity 9500.

According to Digital Chat Station in his recent post on Weibo, the two processors will be unveiled in October. Despite the lack of news about the matter, the tipster is confident about the timeline. Based on past announcements of the semiconductor brands, this is also somewhat expected.

In the post, the tipster also shared that the first wave of smartphone models carrying the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 and Dimensity 9500 will be unveiled by the end of September or the first week of November.

As per earlier leaks and reports, one of the phones expected to house one of these next flagship chips is the Redmi K90 Pro. This is not a surprise, especially since Xiaomi is always one of the brands that introduce the latest Qualcomm chips. The said phone is expected to offer a Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, a 2K flat display, and an upgraded camera section. Instead of a regular telephoto, the K90 Pro allegedly comes with a 50MP periscope unit, offering a large aperture and macro capabilities as well.
