HMD teams up with Kenyan brand to introduce new M-Kopa X30 model

HMD has a new model in the Kenyan market: the M-Kopa X30.

The new model was created through the collaboration of HMD Global with the Kenyan fintech company M-Kopa. According to the company, the main objective of the partnership is to introduce affordable models in Kenya. To this end, while HMD provided the materials for the creation of the phone, M-Kopa will offer it in the Kenyan market through its own flexible pay-as-you-go payment plan.

Despite being an affordable model, the X30 features some decent specs, such as a 50MP main camera with OIS and an IP52 rating.  It also has a punch-hole cutout for its display instead of the waterdrop notch we commonly see in affordable models. Meanwhile, its back has a vertical pill-shaped camera island, a design we’ve been seeing in more models these days. Also, it has some AI features, including Remix Shots and Sticker Maker.
