A new leak shows the render and live pictures of an Honor Magic 8 series model, revealing its front and back designs. The leak also includes some details about the lineup, including an alleged camera button.
Reputable leaker Digital Chat Station shared the news today in China. According to the tipster, the Magic 8 series will be unveiled in mid-October. He also shared some images of the phone with a privacy case, which conceals its back design. Nonetheless, a render of the phone was also released, showing its circular camera island with a squircle ring surrounding it. It generally still has the same design as the Magic 7 series, but the flash unit is now located at the bottom of the island.
The leaked images also show the phone’s frontal design, which has thin bezels. We can also see a punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera, so we believe it is the vanilla Magic 8 instead of the Pro variant. To recall, the Magic 7 Pro has a horizontal pill-shaped camera cutout on its display.
In addition to the images, DCS also shared that the Honor Magic 8 features a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, a flat design, a metal middle frame, and a triple camera system with a periscope unit.
Interestingly, the famous leaker also claimed that the series will boast a dedicated camera button. This is located on the right side frame, just below the Power and volume buttons.
According to reports, the vanilla model will arrive with a 6.59″ OLED. It is said to be a flat 1.5K screen with LIPO technology, a 120Hz refresh rate, and less than 1mm bezels. The Honor Magic 8 Pro model, meanwhile, allegedly has a 6.7″ display with 3D face recognition and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner support, a triple camera setup (50MP 1/1.3″ OmniVision OV50Q main camera + 50MP ultrawide + 200MP 1/1.4″ 85mm periscope telephoto), a battery with a capacity of around 7000mAh, wireless charging, a Lateral OverFlow Integration Capacitor (LOFIC) technology, a smooth frame transition, and a better focus speed and dynamic range. Ultimately, it will feature 90W wired and 80W wireless charging support.
