Honor Robot Phone camera, SoC, display details leak

Reputable leaker Digital Chat Station has shared a handful of interesting details about the Honor Robot Phone.

The Honor device is rumored to be coming in August. While the company has already showcased the phone multiple times at several events, it remains secretive about its specifications.

Tipsters, nonetheless, continue to work for curious fans. The latest tip comes from DCS, who claims that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. This is the same processor found in the Xiaomi 17 Max, OnePlus 15, and more, affirming expectations that it will be a powerful model.

Despite that, the handheld is said to be compact, with DCS noting that its display measures only 6.3 to 6.4 inches. Interestingly, the 1.5K screen is said to feature a bezel-less design, suggesting extremely thin bezels.

The main highlight of the tip is the phone’s camera section, which DCS confirmed features ARRI technology. To recall, the Chinese company made a partnership with the premier German manufacturer, which specializes in high-end motion picture cameras and media services for the film and broadcast industry.

The system reportedly features a 200MP f/1.6 23mm main camera with 4D gimbal stabilization, echoing earlier reports of a built-in gimbal. The said lens is paired with a 50MP ultrawide and a 200MP periscope telephoto unit.

According to DCS, this entire system is a “preview” of the camera that will be used for the Honor Magic 9 series. As such, in addition to the ARRI tech, the said series could also employ the same cameras.

As per reports, the Honor Robot Phone is expected to be not just an AI-centered model but also a camera-focused one. According to reports, the phone will support C-Log and LUTs, ensuring maximum dynamic range and advanced, high-quality colors. In addition to focus lock, white balance lock, and AE lock, the phone is said to feature AI for full-automatic camera movement.
