Huawei is reportedly introducing a special variant of the Huawei Mate 80 with a cooling fan next Monday.
The Mate 80 series was repeatedly leaked to have a cooling fan feature last year. However, despite debuting in November last year, we haven’t heard of any phone in the series with that capability. This might change today, with a Chinese tipster claiming that the brand will finally announce it at the Spring All-Scenario New Product Launch Conference on March 23.
The tip also specifies that the vanilla Mate 80 will receive this special treatment. The phone was earlier known as the Huawei Mate 80 GTS, but the special edition will reportedly be marketed as the Huawei Mate 80 Qingyun Edition in China.
According to earlier reports, the cooling fan is located on the side of the camera island. It is believed to be a 12,000RPM micro-turbo fan that will work alongside a micro-pump and a VC liquid-cooling system. It is also purportedly waterproof.
