A tipster from China shared some details of the upcoming Huawei Mate 80 series and echoed its alleged November launch.
Huawei is now preparing the lineup as suggested by earlier leaks. Days ago, we also saw live units of the alleged models of the said series, sporting a circular camera island with a metal ring surrounding it. The series is said to include the Huawei Mate 80, Mate 80 Pro, Mate 80 Pro+, and Mate 80 RS models.
According to an earlier report, it is tentatively scheduled for next month. Now, leaker Smart Pikachu echoed the claim. The account also shared some details about the series, noting that the lineup will feature both flat and curved displays.
The devices are also said to possess better power management and reduced power consumption. This complements an earlier leak saying that the series will use the Kirin 9030 chip, which should offer 20% better performance than its predecessor. The memory of the devices has also been upgraded. To recall, the Mate 70 has LPDDR5 RAM. As expected, there will also be AI in the devices, and they allegedly include “system-level AI analytics and services.”
In the camera department, on the other hand, is said to offer a variable aperture, upgraded zoom and flash, and a color temperature sensor. As per reports, the vanilla and Pro models will employ 50MP 1/1.5″ and 50MP 1/1.3″ main cameras. The Pro+ and RS models, on the other hand, are rumored to come with a 50MP 1/1.3″ SmartSens 590 sensor.
The models are also expected to offer eSIM support in China, and their batteries are rumored to start at 6000mAh. The main highlight of the series is its alleged unique design, wherein Huawei is reportedly planning to include a waterproof cooling fan in the circular camera island.
