According to a new tip from China, the Huawei Mate 80 series will be offered with 20GB of RAM.
The lineup is set to arrive in China soon. The phones are expected to feature several upgrades, including the chip, camera, and other key components. According to Smart Pikachu, the memory capacity of the devices will also be improved, with Huawei allegedly planning to introduce 20GB RAM variants in the series.
This will be a huge improvement over the Mate 70 series, which debuted with a maximum of 16GB RAM option. To recall, it was offered in the Pro+ and RS models, which both came in 16GB/512GB and 16GB/1TB variants. As such, we also expect the upcoming 20GB RAM models to be paired with up to 1TB storage.
According to leaks, the series will feature a variable aperture, upgraded zoom and flash, and a color temperature sensor. According to reports, the vanilla and Pro models will feature 50MP 1/1.5″ and 50MP 1/1.3″ main cameras. The Pro+ and RS models, on the other hand, are rumored to come with a 50MP 1/1.3″ SmartSens 590 sensor.
The news follows several leaks about the phones, including the arrival of 3D face recognition in all models, a battery capacity of around 6,000mAh, and built-in magnets for wireless charging. The Mate 80 series is also reportedly equipped with better power management and reduced power consumption. This complements an earlier leak stating that the series will utilize the Kirin 9030 chip, which is expected to offer 20% better performance than its predecessor. The devices’ memory has also been upgraded, and the lineup is said to offer “system-level AI analytics and services.” The RS model, however, is reportedly not getting the camera island fan that was rumored for the series.
