According to a leak, the Huawei Pura 80 might adopt the same camera island design as its predecessor.
Huawei will update its Pura 70 series this year with the upcoming Pura 80 lineup. Now, one of the first design leaks of the vanilla Pura 80 model has emerged.
According to the image shared by reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, the Pura 80 model will also have a triangular camera module with three cutouts. To recall, the Pura 70 series also boasts the same design, with the vanilla model boasting a 50MP wide (1/1.3″) with PDAF, Laser AF, and OIS; a 12MP periscope telephoto with PDAF, OIS, and 5x optical zoom; and a 13MP ultrawide unit. As per DCS, the Pura 80 also has a 50MP camera on the back.
The news follows several leaks about the models of the series. According to earlier reports, the Pura 80 models will employ 1.5K 8T LTPO displays, but they will differ in display measurements. One of the devices is expected to offer a 6.6″ ± 1.5K 2.5D flat display, while the other two (including the Ultra variant) will have 6.78″ ± 1.5K equal-depth quad-curved displays.
According to earlier leaks, the Huawei Pura 80 Pro houses a 50MP Sony IMX989 main camera with variable aperture, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 50MP periscope telephoto macro unit. DCS revealed that all three lenses are “customized RYYB.” Meanwhile, the Pura 80 Ultra is expected to have a more powerful camera system than the other models of the series. The device is allegedly armed with a 50MP 1″ main camera paired with a 50MP ultrawide unit and a large periscope with a 1/1.3″ sensor. The system also allegedly implements a variable aperture for the main camera.
Huawei is also rumored to be developing its own camera system for the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra. Most recently, two Huawei-made camera lenses were exposed. The Huawei lenses are reportedly named SC5A0CS and SC590XS, both of which use the RYYB tech and 50MP resolution. The SC5A0CS is a 1″ sensor expected to be used in the main camera, while the SC590XS is a 1/1.3″ lens that could serve as a telephoto. As per DCS, the latter is armed with Huawei’s SuperPixGain HDR2.0 technology, which “achieves ultra-high dynamic range imaging,” “suppresses motion artifacts,” and produces an imaging effect that is “bright and dark, clear and without smear.”
