Confirmed: Huawei Pura 80 series going official on June 11 in China

Huawei has finally announced that the much-awaited Huawei Pura 80 series will be unveiled domestically on June 11.

The news follows several leaks about the models of the series, including the camera systems of the Pro and Ultra models. Most recently, the alleged live unit for the latter was spotted while being used by Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO He Gang during an event. The unit could be seen sporting a huge camera island with humongous lens cutouts, signifying the phone’s powerful camera system.

Now, the same details are teased in the first official poster of the series. Based on the image shared, it seems the phone will have lenses with convex shapes.

According to earlier leaks, the Pura 80 Ultra has multiple lenses, including a periscope telephoto and a Red Maple lens unit. Huawei’s self-developed lenses, SC5A0CS and SC590XS, both use the RYYB tech and 50MP resolution and are expected to be used on the phone.

The device is allegedly armed with a 50MP 1″ main camera paired with a 50MP ultrawide unit and a large periscope with a 1/1.3″ sensor. The system also allegedly implements a variable aperture for the main camera. The Huawei Pura 80 Pro model is also expected to use Huawei’s new lens. The phone is allegedly coming with a SmartSens 50MP 1″ SC5A0CS for its main camera.
