A reputable leaker shared that another huge smartphone brand had canceled its variable aperture plans for its next release.
The Huawei Pura 80 series debuted in China in June, and its global launch followed a month later. The lineup impresses in various sections, but its main highlight is its powerful camera system, which has a variable aperture for all four models.
The technology is not new in the industry, since Samsung also offers it in the Galaxy S9 and S10 series, which were released years ago. Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which debuted last year, also has it. This leaves the Pura 80 the latest series to offer the capability.
According to other reports, other manufacturers are also considering using variable apertures in their next creations. Even Apple is allegedly planning the move. However, Digital Chat Station claimed that another unnamed brand, which was earlier expected to release its model with such tech, canceled its plan. As such, the Pura 80 might still enjoy its status as the latest series to offer a variable camera aperture.
To recall, the Huawei Pura 80, Huawei Pura 80 Pro, Huawei Pura 80 Pro+, and Huawei Pura 80 Ultra all offer the feature. Here are their camera details:
