Huawei Pura X2 to arrive later than predecessor

A Chinese tipster revealed the possible launch timeline of the Huawei Pura X2 model.

In March 2025, Huawei introduced a unique phone called the Pura X. Unlike other flip phones on the market, it features a 16:10 display ratio. This makes it shorter but wider than other models. It has a 6.3″ main display and a 3.5″ external screen. When unfolded, it is used as a regular vertical flip phone, but its orientation changes when it is closed. Despite this, the secondary display is quite spacious and allows for a variety of actions (camera, calls, music, etc.), enabling you to use the phone even without unfolding it.

The device was a success in its domestic market, so it is not a surprise that the Chinese giant wants to create its successor. According to earlier reports, the phone is expected to arrive in the first quarter of 2026. However, a new leak suggests otherwise, stating that it will come later than expected.

Leaker Fixed Focus Digital revealed that the next Pura X phone would be released after the Huawei Pura 90 series, which is expected in the first to second quarter of the year. Give earlier reports, this means the said X device could debut in the second quarter.

According to earlier reports, the device would house a Kirin 9030 chip, which is an upgrade over the current Kirin 9020 SoC in the Pura X. It is reportedly keeping its successor’s 6.3″ 16:10 widescreen, but will be “downgraded” in most of its sections. On a positive note, the phone is reportedly going to be cheaper than its predecessor. To recall, the first Pura has a 6.3″ main display and a 3.5″ external screen. When unfolded, it is used as a regular vertical flip phone, but its orientation changes when it is closed. In general, the Huawei Pura X measures 143.2mm x 91.7mm when unfolded and 91.7mm x 74.3mm when folded.
