Xiaomi 12S series will be launching on July 4 and Lei Jun shared a video containing frequently asked questions to Xiaomi. CEO and founder of Xiaomi, Lei Jun gave a talk about Leica in that video and pointed out that Xiaomi 12S series won’t pass from the tests made by DxOMark. Xiaomi collaborated with Leica for camera development of Xiaomi 12S series. Leica is a German based company creating high quality lenses and cameras.

DxOMark is a company making various tests on mobile devices’ cameras, displays, batteries etc. It’s getting rated in many aspects and at the end of test results the phone gets a rank and these tests make easier to compare with other smartphones. Lei Jun stated tests made by DxOMark costs a lot. Beyond that Lei Jun is pretty confident because Leica is partner with Xiaomi.
Leica worked with Huawei earlier and Huawei did a good job in terms of smartphone camera in the past. Huawei P50 is the last phone created with Leica-Huawei partnership. After they ended partnership with Huawei, currently Leica works with Xiaomi.
