HMD has introduced the Nokia 215 4G WeChat Edition in China, where it sells for CN¥369 ($55).
The new Nokia feature phone offers several impressive features for its price, including AI Assistant, Alipay Payment, and even video calling.

The phone also comes with the HMD Chat feature, an instant messaging tool that lets users communicate with both feature phones and smartphones. The latter relies on the WeChat HMD Chat mini-program, while feature phones need the pre-installed HMD Chat application to access audio and video calling, text messaging, group chats, and location services. The phone also offers real-time location sharing, group chat, and geofencing.
Despite only having a 2.8″ screen, the device also comes with a built-in AI voice assistant that allows voice commands, AI Q&A, and alarm wake-up. It also features a radio, flashlight, recorder, and blacklist/whitelist management. There are also the Himalaya and Migu Music platforms, giving users access to a vast library of audio content.
The device is advertised as a child-friendly unit, with its Alipay QR code payments offering a spending limit management function that parents can control.
