OnePlus 16 could feature a 240Hz display

According to a new leak, the OnePlus 16 will feature an incredibly high refresh rate.

The OnePlus 15 is now officially available in China and globally. Though it is still relatively new in the market, we’ve already been hearing about its successor. Earlier, we heard about the device coming with a 200MP sensor in its camera configuration. It is expected to offer the same primary and telephoto camera details as the upcoming Oppo Find N6. According to earlier reports, the Find N6 is coming with a 50MP/50MP/200MP/2MP rear camera configuration. In the said system, the 200MP sensor is expected to be used as a telephoto, while one of the 50MP cameras will serve as the primary camera.

Now, a new interesting detail about the handheld has surfaced: it will feature a display with a refresh rate of approximately 200Hz. Though the leak didn’t specify any number, it is likely to be 240Hz. If true, it will be able to challenge earlier models with almost the same capability, including the Asus ROG Phone II and Black Shark 2 Pro, both of which have a 240Hz touch sampling rate. There’s also Sharp, which offers it as a standard refresh rate in several of its models. For instance, the Sharp Aquos sense10 has a 6.1″ Pro IGZO OLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2340x1080px and a 1 to 240Hz variable refresh rate. There’s also the Sharp Aquos R9 Pro, which boasts a 6.7″ Pro IGZO OLED display with a Quad HD+ resolution of 3120x1440px and a variable refresh rate from 1 to 240Hz.

The news follows an earlier leak about OnePlus allegedly working on a model with a standard 240Hz refresh rate. According to the tip, OnePlus could soon “achieve the perfect balance between high resolution and a 240Hz dynamic refresh rate.”
