Oppo is reportedly expanding its A series with the addition of GT and Max models.
Oppo’s A series in China has a variety of selections. Its latest offering, the A5 series, has the vanilla, Vitality Edition, Pro, and X variants. Its earlier lineups also have their distinctive variants, such as the A3i Plus, A2m, A1 Active Edition, and more.
Now, well-known leaker Digital Chat Station has revealed that the Chinese brand is planning to add more variants in addition to those models. Interestingly, instead of budget models, it seems Oppo will not opt for power and gaming-focused models.
As per DCS, the Oppo series will soon welcome its GT and Max models. However, it was not shared whether these models will debut in the current A5 series or its successor.
The tipster also shared some of the details fans can expect from the said variants. As per the account, the first A series GT and Max models will employ a Snapdragon 7 series chip, a flat 1.5K LTPS display, a 50MP main camera, and a “large battery.” To compare, the largest battery in the A5 series in China is owned by the vanilla model, which houses a 6500mAh cell. According to DCS, both models will have a thousand-yuan range in China.
It is unknown whether the said Oppo models would also be announced outside China, but we hope for the best. To recall, the brand recently presented the Oppo A5 5G model in India, and it is now available for purchase.
