POCO F5 series has been revealed, comprising two phones: the POCO F5 and the POCO F5 Pro. As a POCO F series classic, both phones come with high-end specs, and this year is no exception – both the regular and Pro versions feature a flagship chipset.
POCO F5 series
While two phones, POCO F5 and F5 Pro, are available in the global market, only POCO F5 will be available in India. This is similar to what happened with the Xiaomi 13 series, where the vanilla model wasn’t sold in India, while both Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro were available globally. Nevertheless, this isn’t a big concern for customers in India, as both the POCO F5 and F5 Pro have impressive specifications. The article contains pricing details at the end.
POCO F5
POCO F5 is a phone powered by Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2. Although this processor belongs to the Snapdragon 7 series, it has almost the same power as last year’s flagship chipset, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The phone comes with 8GB of RAM on its base variant, and there are also options with 12GB of RAM available.
In terms of storage, the phone features UFS 3.1, which is a reasonable choice for maintaining a good balance between price and performance, even though there are phones in the market with UFS 4.0 storage unit.
One of the most interesting aspects of POCO F5 is its display, in addition to its performance. We can consider POCO F5 to be an affordable device considerind its specs to offer, thanks to its flagship chipset and display.
POCO F5 comes with an OLED display that can view 12-bit color, the display is 6.67-inch in size. It has 120Hz refresh rate and Full HD resolution. If Full HD resolution isn’t good enough for you, you can opt for POCO F5 Pro instead. However, the 12-bit display of the POCO F5 can show more colors, which means you can see more vibrant colors. Additionally, POCO F5’s display can reach a brightness of 1000 nits. On the other hand POCO F5 Pro has a 10-bit QHD display.
POCO F5 is powered by a 5000 mAh battery. The battery supports 67W fast charging, but unfortunately it does not support wireless charging. Additionally, the vanilla model lacks an under-display fingerprint sensor, and the fingerprint sensor is positioned on the power button.
POCO F5 features a triple camera setup, consisting of a 64 MP main camera with OIS, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2 MP macro camera. On the front, there is a 16 MP selfie camera. POCO F5’s main camera can also shoot 4K video.

POCO F5 Pro
POCO F5 Pro is equipped with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which is a powerful processor like the most powerful Snapdragon processor like Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. It’s just one generation old. Similar to the vanilla model, the Pro model uses UFS 3.1 as the storage unit.
The most significant difference between POCO F5 Pro and the vanilla model is the display. POCO F5 Pro’s 6.67-inch display with a resolution of 1440×3200 will provide sharp images, but it uses a 10-bit panel instead of the 12-bit panel found in POCO F5. POCO F5 Pro can reach a brightness of 1400 nits.
POCO F5 Pro supports 67W fast charging like the vanilla model, but it also has 30W wireless charging. Additionally, the battery capacity is slightly larger at 5160 mAh, and POCO F5 Pro features an under-display fingerprint sensor.
The camera design on the POCO F5 Pro is quite different from the POCO F5, but the cameras are actually the same. The phone has a 64 MP main camera with OIS support, an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2 MP macro camera. POCO F5 Pro also has a 16 MP selfie camera on the front, like the vanilla model, but its main camera is capable of shooting 8K video instead of 4K.
