Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Launch Date Announced!

Qualcomm, which is often associated with the problems of the Snapdragon 888 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipsets, will unveil the new generation flagship chipset in the final months of this year. The launch date of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which will offer significantly higher performance than its predecessor, has been determined.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Release date

Qualcomm’s flagship chipsets are unveiled every year at the Snapdragon Summit in November. Along with the launch in Hawaii, mid-range chipsets can also be unveiled. The new Snapdragon flagship chipset will be unveiled from November 15-17 this year, after which manufacturers will announce their new devices. After the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in November, the new Xiaomi 13 series will be launched in December.

Who manufactures the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2?

Qualcomm has had a major problem with Samsung-manufactured chipsets over the past 2 years. Although the models with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 had a good cooling system, the chipset was severely throttled under load and performance degraded. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 released in June is largely similar to the 8 Gen 1, but it is manufactured by TSMC and is therefore much more stable. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will be manufactured by TSMC just like the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1.

Known details about the new chipset

Qualcomm’s new flagship chipset will most likely be codenamed SM8550. Just like the 8 Gen 1 and 8+ Gen 1, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, which will be made using 4nm manufacturing technology, will feature higher clock speeds and a better 5G modem compared to its predecessor. In addition, the ISP is expected to improve significantly with the next-generation chipset.
