Realme 16 Pro+ price leak hits at steep hike

The price leak of the upcoming Realme 16 Pro+ suggests that the brand has implemented a significant price increase in the series.

The Realme 16 Pro series is launching globally and in India on January 6. The brand has already started teasing the lineup, and even recently revealed the official design and colorways for the phones.

Despite the revelations, the company remains secretive about the prices of the devices. Thankfully, the alleged retail box of the Pro+ variant has surfaced online. The variant comes with 512GB of storage and is priced at ₹43,999.

Based on those numbers, it means the said model will debut with a higher price tag than the earlier series. It is worth noting that the Realme 15 series arrived with only a vanilla model and a Pro variant. Yet, compared to the latter’s (considered as the Pro+ variant of the earlier series) 12GB/512GB configuration, which costs ₹35,999, the Realme 16 Pro+’s price tag is indeed higher.

The increase, nonetheless, is not surprising, since Realme earlier warned fans about the move. To recall, Francis Wong, Realme’s Global Head of Product Marketing, underscored that the hike is not just exclusive to Realme, noting that “this is a pan-industry issue, no brand can escape it.”

According to earlier reports, the Pro+ model will feature a Snapdragon that can outperform the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 in the Realme 15 Pro. The brand also confirmed that both models feature a 200MP main camera, which uses the 1/1.56″ Samsung HP5 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The Pro+ model comes with an additional telephoto camera featuring a 3.5x optical zoom and a Samsung JN5 sensor. There’s also an ultrawide with 0.6x to 120x focal length shooting support.
