More details about the upcoming Redmi K90 Pro Max model. In addition to its display, the brand shared the phone’s chip, battery, and charging information today.
The K90 series is coming to China this Thursday. Ahead of the day, the smartphone brand showed us its design and confirmed its battery rating. It was also recently revealed that the handheld has the same 1/1.31″ Light Fusion 950 main sensor as the vanilla Xiaomi 17 variant. Nonetheless, in a new development in the story, Xiaomi announced that the camera is not the only detail it is borrowing from its latest flagship series.
According to the Chinese giant, the K90 Pro Max model also has the same display as the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. To recall, the said Xiaomi model has a 6.9″ 2K (2608x1200px) 1-120Hz AMOLED with 3500nits peak brightness and a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. This is a Super Pixel M10 OLED, which offers an independent pixel array tech and the Qingshan Eye Protection 3.0. The panel also includes several other technologies, such as full brightness DC dimming, 1-nit low-light eye protection, and Circular Polarized Light 2.0, all of which are aimed at protecting users’ eyes during long usage.
In the battery section, Redmi also revealed that the phone houses a huge 7560mAh battery. The cell, nonetheless, is not the only highlight of the section. According to the brand, it also features 100W wired charging, which is complemented by 50W wireless and 22.5W reverse wired charging capabilities.
The Redmi K90 Pro Max will also rely on the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC. It is paired with the D2 graphics chip, ensuring it can handle hardware-level super-resolution and improved frame rates efficiently. Additionally, there’s also a 6,700mm² 3D ice-cooling system in the device.
The news follows the company’s several revelations about the phone, including its colorways (black, white, and denim blue). The company also earlier ensured fans that despite having an external Bose speaker on its back, the phone is fully protected by an IP68 rating.
