Chinese tech giant Xiaomi released its Redmi Note 11 series in China back in October 2021. The series comprises three different smartphones; Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G, and the Redmi Note 11 5G. It has been quite a few months passed since the launch of the Note 11 series in the country and we can start expecting the launch or any official announcement on the upcoming Redmi Note 12 series soon.
Redmi Note 12 series launching in 2nd Half of 2022
Notable tipper Digital Chat Station has published a post on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo. The tipster has passed along information about an upcoming Redmi mid-range phone/series. While he hasn’t specifically mentioned the series, it appears that he’s referring to the Redmi Note 12 lineup. According to him, the series will provide a balanced exposure, and he was able to obtain an early prototype unit of the device.
He also says the device will have a non-curved (flat) screen with high refresh rate support. The front-facing selfie camera will be housed in a punch-hole cutout in the centre. The device will have a 50-megapixel primary rear camera coupled with two more auxiliary lenses, and the camera cutout on the back will be similar to that of its predecessor. He ended the leak by stating that the camera module has a horizontal LED flash unit.
The Redmi Note 12 series is unlikely to launch in the coming weeks, as Xiaomi has recently launched its Redmi Note 11T series of smartphones in the country. However, we can expect the Redmi Note 12 series in a few months. The series could debut in the third quarter of 2022. (July-August-September). Apart from that, we don’t know much about the device.
