Reno 16 series arrives with Oppo Bubble rear display attachment

The Oppo Reno 16 and Oppo Reno 16 Pro have debuted in China. One of the key highlights of the phones is the Oppo Bubble, a detachable rear display accessory.

The devices do not offer a bunch of huge upgrades. Nonetheless, unlike their Reno 15 series predecessors, which both use MediaTek Dimensity 8450, the new Oppo models are equipped with two different MediaTek chips. While the vanilla model features the Dimensity 8550 Super chip, the Pro variant comes with the Dimensity 9500s.

Like the earlier series models, the phones still have 80W wired charging (plus 50W wireless for the Pro). Nonetheless, the cells now have higher capacities: Reno 16 gets a 6700mAh battery (vs. 6200mAh), while the Pro has a 7000mAh battery (vs. 6500mAh).

Ultimately, both phones support the Oppo Bubble attachment. The new accessory serves as a rear display, allowing users to take selfies using the main camera lenses. The attachment is sold separately.
