A live image of the Xiaomi 17 Leica Leitzphone has emerged online ahead of its official unveiling.
The Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra will arrive globally on February 28. Aside from the said models, the series is also expected to include the Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition. Yet, according to earlier leaks, it will be called “Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi” outside China.
It was originally expected to borrow the same exact design as the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in China, but a new image leak shows otherwise. According to the live unit photographed in the leak, it will feature a simple black design rather than the two-tone design of its Chinese counterpart. Yet the phone’s shade still reflects Leica’s retro shade and texture. The placement of the Leica and Xiaomi logos in the camera island and back panel has also been changed.

Despite minimal changes to the phone’s looks, it is still expected to be based on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, though it should come with additional photography-focused features. To recall, its counterpart in China offers the following:
- Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5
- LPDDR5X RAM
