Slight heating of the smartphone during energy replenishment is a normal situation, but the problem with Pixel 3 is that overheating causes the device to shut down. The error most often occurs when using wireless charging.
The problem does not depend on specific charging devices: users observe overheating when using both the Google Pixel Stand and third-party Qi stations, and even some wired adapters.
If the smartphone detects that its temperature is too high, the user will receive a notification about it, and the charge rate will decrease dramatically. However, if the situation does not improve, the smartphone will turn off automatically to avoid further heating.
Google has not yet commented on the problem. It is also unknown how widespread the error is and...
