Google removed 13 malicious applications from 500,000 installations from the Play Store

According to ESET malware researcher Lukas Stefanko, there were 13 applications on the Google Play Market that reinstalled the virus program unnoticed by users.
They were published from the account of one developer and worked on the uniform mechanics. After the user started the program disguised as a game, it urgently closed, hid its icon from the list of applications and added an additional APK called Game Center.

In total, these applications downloaded more than 560,000 times, and two of them were placed in the “Popular” section of the Play Store rating.
