Continue reading...Sony Interactive Entertainment has received a patent for the design of an electronic game cartridge, which may hint at the possibility of the company returning to the portable console market.
From the description of the patent, it follows that the cartridge is made of metal and synthetic resin. Judging by the images, the design includes a port at the bottom. There are no other details in the document.
In May, Sony Interactive Entertainment director John Kodera said that the company is still interested in portable games, but there are no plans to create a new portable console.
Note that large companies, such as Sony, daily submit dozens of patents for devices and technologies that may never see the light.
