Tipster: Redmi K100 Pro Max getting 200MP lens

The Redmi K100 Pro Max will be the next device to adopt the 200MP camera lens trend in the industry.

That’s according to the reputable leaker Smart Pikachu, who said a sub-brand is planning to upgrade its lineup with better 200MP cameras. The post included a hashtag that directly mentioned the K100.

While the specific model of the lineup was not revealed, it is believed to be the higher-end Pro Max variant. To recall, the current series includes the Redmi K90 Pro and Redmi K90 Pro Max, and the brand is likely to adopt the same naming strategy in its next lineup.

The news is not a huge surprise in the industry, since earlier reports mentioned a growing trend of 200MP cameras in upcoming smartphones. Even the Xiaomi 18 Pro is expected to use two 200MP cameras.

It is unknown, however, if the 200MP lens will be used for the main or the telephoto camera of the Redmi K100 Pro Max. To compare, the current K90 Pro Max features a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP 5X periscope telephoto with 5X optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide.

While the Redmi phone will be unveiled in China, the global market is expected to welcome it under the Poco F9 Ultra moniker. Stay tuned for updates!
