A reputable leaker shared some of the key specifications about the anticipated Vivo S50 series.
The lineup is reportedly comprised of the vanilla Vivo S50 and the Vivo S50 Pro Mini. According to a recent update, the series is now scheduled for a December launch, rather than the previously reported November debut. Now, Digital Chat Station has a new set of details about the phones.
According to the tipster, the Pro Mini model could feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, a huge change from the MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ of its predecessor. DCS underscored that this should bring a “flagship experience in the mid-range market.”
In the camera department, a Sony IMX882 lens is reportedly being used as a periscope unit for the system. To recall, the S30 Pro Mini features a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP periscope camera with OIS on its back.
There’s reportedly a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint 2.0 scanner on the display of the series. Notably, the S30 lineup debuted with only an optical fingerprint scanner.
Ultimately, the series design allegedly “remains minimalist and lightweight,” so it may retain the same look as its predecessor.
According to DCS, the entire series is undergoing an upgrade across its key departments. As such, in addition to chips, we expect bigger batteries, faster charging speeds, improved displays, and better camera lenses.
