Vivo confirmed that the Vivo X200 Ultra model would be launched in April.
The brand announced the plan during its participation at the Boao Forum for Asia event, where the phone was called the “official smartphone” of the conference. Sadly, aside from promising a powerful camera system, Vivo did not share the phone’s specifications or exact debut date.
Earlier, the brand showcased the model’s camera lenses. The biggest among them is the Samsung ISOCELL HP9 periscope unit. The 1/1.4″ lens was compared to two other periscope modules taken from the X100 Ultra and an unnamed model to show their size differences. According to Vivo’s Han Boxiao, the bigger periscope telephoto unit “has a larger aperture and increases the amount of light by 38%.” We also get to see the two 50MP Sony LYT-818 units for the main (35mm) and ultrawide (14mm) cameras. The brand compared the latter, a 1/1.28″ lens, to a conventional ultrawide module in the market, underscoring their significant size difference.
According to earlier reports, the Vivo X200 Ultra will be available in black, red, and white options. It is also rumored to offer a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, a curved 2K display, 4K@120fps HDR video recording support, Live Photos, a 6000mAh battery, a dedicated camera button, a Fujifilm tech-supported camera system, and up to 1TB storage. As per rumors, it will have a price tag of around CN¥5,500 in China, where it will be exclusive.
