Ahead of Vivo’s official announcement, two of its upcoming models were spotted: the Vivo Y50 and Vivo Y50m.
It is important to note, however, that one of the models, the vanilla one, is different from the Vivo Y50 we welcomed in 2020. While that device houses an 11nm Snapdragon 665 chip, the upcoming new Y50 models will sport 5G SoCs. Moreover, the two new Vivo smartphones will sport a different design, including a large vertical rectangular camera island with two lens cutouts and a light ring.
According to the China Telecom listing of the phones, the vanilla model has the V2443A model number, a 6.74″ 1600x720px display, a 5MP selfie camera, a 13MP main camera, a 6000mAh battery, and Android 15 OS. Its colors include platinum, sky blue, and diamond black, and its configurations are 4GB/128GB (CN¥1299), 6GB/128GB (CN¥1499), 8GB/256GB (CN¥1999), and 12GB/256GB (CN¥2299). According to other leaks, the phone also has 44W charging support and a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chip.
The Vivo Y50m also appeared on the same platform, where it was confirmed to have the same design and specs as the other model. However, it comes with a V2443BA model number. According to the listing, the m variant has platinum, sky blue, and diamond black colorways. It also has the same configuration options as the other model. Yet, while its first two options are priced the same as those of the first variant, the last two are priced at CN¥2199 and CN¥2599, respectively. The main difference between the two remains unknown. It is also yet to be confirmed whether the phones will debut in other markets like India, but if that happens, we expect the brand to make some tweaks to their global variants.
