Xiaomi’s brand new smart fitness tracker, Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will be introduced on April 18. Although there is not much difference compared to the previous series, Xiaomi has brought a few refreshments with a complete overhaul.
Xiaomi Smart Band 8
Xiaomi has brought about a significant upgrade in their latest Smart Band 8 by offering a new kind of metal and leather strap, which was previously absent for its predecessor. This new metal not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the band but also provides better durability and comfort to its users. Xiaomi has designed the smart band in a way that allows users to wear it not just on their wrist but also around their neck like a necklace.
While if you think about whether such a design makes sense or not, there will always be users who embrace this unique usage scenario. The critical aspect of the smart wristband is not just its aesthetic appeal when used as a necklace, but rather its ability to display essential information such as date and time, steps taken and so on. This is such an interesting move by Xiaomi.
Xiaomi Smart Band 8 also allows users to attach it to their shoes. By using it on the foot, Xiaomi Smart Band 8 can track various data like stride length, step intensity, and brisk walking status. We don’t know exactly what kind of data it will offer but expect Xiaomi Smart Band 8 to give you more detailed info than you already have on your existing wearable fitness tracker. The data should also be much more accurate. This feature may not be good for everyday users, but it is likely to be loved among athletes or sports enthusiasts.
Chinese version of Xiaomi Smart Band 8 will feature NFC; however, it is still unclear whether the NFC feature will be available in the global version. What do you think about Xiaomi Smart Band 8? Please share your thoughts in the comments!
