According to a new claim, Xiaomi might also be working on its own slim phone, which will join the Xiaomi 17 series.
Several brands are jumping into the Air trend. In addition to the Apple iPhone 17 Air, Motorola (Moto X70 Air) and Nubia (Nubia Air) introduced their own versions of their thin phones, and Huawei is also allegedly presenting the Mate 70 Air soon. Now, as per a new rumor, Xiaomi will also soon announce its own entry in the game: the Xiaomi 17 Air.
No certifications are available yet to confirm the phone’s specs. However, leaks in China say that the device could arrive with a 6.6″ 1.5K and a 200MP main camera. Interestingly, the phone is reportedly only capable of eSIM and doesn’t have a SIM tray for a physical card.
Adding the model to the Xiaomi 17 series makes sense for the company’s current marketing strategy. To recall, the brand explained weeks ago that it skipped 16 to compete head-to-head with the iPhone 17 series. However, while the current models of the lineup have proven to be a success in China, time will tell if the same will happen to the Xiaomi 17 Air, since the sales of the iPhone 17 Air continue to disappoint.
