According to new details circulating online, the Xiaomi 17 Max could debut soon. The tip also mentions its alleged chip, contradicting an earlier report.
The Xiaomi 17 series will soon be joined by another variant. According to reputable leaker Digital Chat Station, it could arrive in May, which is in line with earlier claims that it would debut in the second quarter of the year. Yet, the tipster noted that it remains tentative.
DCS also shared that the phone would feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, echoing earlier leaks. Interestingly, this opposes the earlier claim he made in January, saying the chip would instead be MediaTek. As such, it is best to take things with a grain of salt, especially since the details could still change as we’re still months away from the phone’s debut.
According to earlier reports, the Xiaomi 17 Max could also feature the largest battery in the series, with a capacity of around 8000mAh. It reportedly supports 100W wired and 50W wireless charging speeds. In the camera department, it is believed to get a 200MP 1/1.4″ Samsung ISOCELL HPE main camera. The system also allegedly includes a 50MP ultrawide unit and a 50MP 1/1.95″ Sony IMX8-series periscope telephoto lens. The phone is also allegedly adopting some features from its series siblings, including a metal frame, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, an IP68 rating, and more.
