The Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max have new rear display capabilities as the brand celebrates the Lunar New Year.
The models were among the most popular in the series due to their secondary screens. According to the brand, the feature will be adopted by its future devices and even promised fans that it would introduce additional capabilities. To recall, it earlier introduced the Stealth Mode and Dialogue Translation in the phones’ rear displays.
The brand continues to keep its word by rolling out new features to the rear displays of the phones in celebration of the 2026 Chinese New Year.

With the new update, the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max will receive new Chinese New Year rear wallpapers that will change every midnight for the first seven days.
The rear displays will also show the New Year’s Eve countdown, starting at 23:55. Users can also trigger the firework screen effect by making a new gesture (by closing the fist and opening it in front of the rear display).
As usual, the update also includes additional features, such as the camera’s dual-view mode, new shooting effects, full-frame recording on the rear display, and more.
