The Xiaomi 17 Pro series has received a feature called Stealth Mode, which allows users to instantly access advanced security capabilities.
The brand introduced the new feature in the Xiaomi 17 Pro and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max in China this week. It is accessible through the secondary display of the devices and can disable the microphone, camera, location, and other permissions with a single tap of a button.
The new Stealth Mode is similar to the other privacy security features of earlier models, including the Samsung Galaxy S20 Tactical Edition (can physically disable all radio frequency broadcasting, including cellular, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and emergency calling function) and OnePlus Open Apex Edition (using a redesigned Alert Slider to instantly disable the cameras and microphones at a hardware level).
The news follows the addition of new features to the Xiaomi 17 series, including an instant translator feature that utilizes both the front and rear displays. There are also new avatars and live wallpapers for the rear displays, and the brand has promised to bring more features in the future. Unfortunately, it is unclear whether the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max will be available outside of China.
Stay tuned for updates!
