The Xiaomi 17 series has been a huge success in its domestic launch. Aside from achieving a new sales record, the Pro Max variant of the lineup is now unavailable due to high demand.
The Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Pro, and Xiaomi 17 Pro Max were unveiled in China days ago. After their announcement, the company immediately made them available for open sales. According to the giant, the models immediately reached impressive first-day record sales in all price segments of the year. The company didn’t share the exact figures, but it claimed that the series did it within the first minutes of being available in the online market.
The Pro Max model reportedly contributed 50% of the first-day series sales. As such, it became unavailable instantly. Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing said that the “user demand far exceeded our initial expectations,” and that the company “underestimated” such a situation. With this, amid the continuous demands from fans, the executive has encouraged fans to opt for the Xiaomi 17 Pro model instead.
It is yet to be announced when the Pro Max model will be available again. Meanwhile, the series is expected to launch globally soon, and India is one of the first markets confirmed to welcome it.
