Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Redmi Turbo 5 series reportedly launching on Dec. 26

According to a new tip, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Redmi Turbo 5 series will debut simultaneously on December 26.

The Chinese brand is expected to launch several devices this month. According to well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, some of them include the Xiaomi 17 Ultra and Redmi Turbo 5 series, which have been the topic of several leaks in the past few weeks.

The tipster also reiterated earlier claims about the devices, noting that the Ultra model has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The Redmi series is expected to include the vanilla Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Pro, which are rumored to house the Dimensity 8500 and Dimensity 9500 chips, respectively.

According to earlier reports, the Pro model also offers a 9000mAh battery, a 100W charging speed, a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and full water resistance. The standard is also believed to offer a battery with a capacity of over 9000mAh, 100W charging, a flat 1.5K LTPS display with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, metal side frames, a thickness of 8.5mm, and full waterproof protection.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to sport a powerful camera system. According to tips, the Chinese brand is keeping the circular camera island design in the phone. However, from the four rear cameras of predecessors, the Chinese giant is reportedly reducing it to three. Despite having fewer lenses, the phone reportedly has better cameras than its predecessor. Leaks suggest that Xiaomi will focus on using larger lenses this time, with some tipsters stating that the company is adding a new Leica coating to the cameras. As per rumors, the lenses the phone houses include the 50MP OVX10500U for the main unit, the 200MP S5KHPE for telephoto, and 50MP OV50M or 50MP S5KJN5 for the ultrawide. The selfie camera, on the other hand, could arrive with a 50MP OV50M lens.

DCS claimed that, in addition to the smartphones, Xiaomi will also unveil a smartwatch, two pairs of earphones, a tablet, and some IoT products.
