Xiaomi 17 Ultra to rely on hardware tech to resolve optical issues

A well-known tipster claims that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra’s camera system will be improved significantly in terms of hardware.

The Xiaomi model is expected to launch this month. Several leaks involving the handheld have already surfaced in the past few weeks, allowing us to confirm its camera island design and trio of rear cameras. In a new tip shared by Smart Pikachu, the brand is reportedly focusing on improving the phone’s hardware to prevent camera issues, instead of relying on the software. According to the tip, the company will apply a new Leica coating to the cameras, which should reduce glare and reflections.

In an earlier leak, we also learned that the Xiaomi smartphone will have fewer rear cameras. Unlike its predecessors with a quad-camera setup, the Chinese giant is reportedly opting for a triple-camera system. According to rumors, the lenses the phone houses include the 50MP OVX10500U for the main unit, the 200MP S5KHPE for telephoto, and 50MP OV50M or 50MP S5KJN5 for the ultrawide. The selfie camera, on the other hand, could arrive with a 50MP OV50M lens.
