Xiaomi users have the opportunity of installing a custom ROM on their devices. Users may wish to install ROMs on their phones for a variety of reasons, to have a better performance or battery life. In general, AOSP ROMs are commonly used.
Customized MIUI ROMs are available in addition to AOSP ROMs. This kind of ROMs provide unique functionalities by making changes to the original MIUI ROM. Xiaomi.eu is one of the customized MIUI ROMs.
Xiaomi.eu
Xiaomi.eu is based on Chinese version of MIUI. It passes SafetyNet out of the box in some versions of Xiaomi.eu. Despite being based on the Chinese version of MIUI, Xiaomi.eu ROM includes Google applications.
Xiaomi.eu team has been actively publishing ROMs for various devices and has released ROMs for Snapdragon powered devices only so far. With that being said no any MTK device has gotten into the Xiaomi.eu’s official ROM support list. Xiaomi.eu publishes their ROMs on Sourceforge website.
In the past they have worked on Redmi Note 8 Pro and then they discontinued due to instabilities. Redmi Note 8 Pro (begonia) has a MTK processor and some users bricked their devices by just installing Xiaomi.eu ROM. You can read the detailed post shared by Xiaomi.eu team from this link.
Redmi K50, Redmi K50 Pro, Redmi Note 11T Pro, Redmi Note 11T Pro+ and Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity are the first MTK Xiaomi smartphones that might have Xiaomi.eu support in the future. As they explain Xiaomi 12T won’t be among the MTK devices getting Xiaomi.eu firstly since they don’t have enough people for testing.
MTK devices with Xiaomi.eu support
- Redmi K50 Pro (matisse)
- Redmi K50 (rubens)
- Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity Edition (daumier)
- Redmi Note 11T Pro / POCO X4 GT (xaga)
- Redmi K50i (xagain)
- Redmi Note 11T Pro+ (xagapro)
Only Xiaomi 12T (plato) is on Patreon for testing, the rest of the devices (matisse, xaga, daumier, rubens) are currently available on Sourceforge. You can download by tapping on the devices’ names.
You can flash Xiaomi.eu ROM through the fastboot mode. After you unzip the file click on “fastboot_first_install_with_data_format” file and start the process.
Xiaomi.eu team has declared that they will use Patreon to provide ROMs for MTK smartphones. The first ROMs that are released will not be accessible for free. Whether paid or not, it’s great that Xiaomi.eu offers support for MTK devices.
